Organized by ECLAC, through the Digital Transformation Lab, together with German Cooperation (GIZ) and the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), the event provided first-hand insight into the Regulatory Environment Sandbox Maturity Assessment (RESMA), a tool designed to assess a country’s readiness to launch initiatives of this kind, as well as the project’s scope and the opportunities it offers to support Caribbean countries in developing their regulatory experimentation agendas.
Key messages:
“The Caribbean can position itself not only as a hub for experimentation, but also as a global benchmark for regulatory learning on AI.”
“Caribbean states have the opportunity to leverage test environments to define their own regulatory agendas and accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies at the state level.”
“International cooperation will be essential to support effective implementation across the region.”
